Soft Mallow
Soft Mallow is built around Marshmallow Root, one of the classic herbs herbalists often keep in regular rotation. The blend is mellow, lightly aromatic, and develops a distinctive body when prepared as a long infusion.
Marshmallow itself is mild and soft in flavor, while the licorice root, fennel seed, and cinnamon bring a gentle natural sweetness. Rosehips add a subtle tartness and the catnip contributes aromatic notes that keep the blend interesting without overpowering it.
Once fully infused, the marshmallow’s mucilage content gives the tea a thicker texture and fuller body than most herbal teas. Many people who enjoy this style of tea describe it as especially satisfying for times when plain water never quite seems to do the trick on its own.
How to Use
Soft Mallow is best enjoyed as a long infusion. While you can begin with hot or cold water, the marshmallow requires time once the water cools to fully extract its mucilage content. The easiest preparation is to add boiling water before bed and steep covered overnight. It can also be prepared with room temperature or cold water and infused for about four hours. Once fully infused, strain and refrigerate. It can be enjoyed cold or reheated.
