High-Quality Herbal Products

Ingredient Sourcing

While we value local sourcing and choose it when the right material is available, proximity is not our only measure of quality. We source herbs from regions where the climate and growing conditions are well suited to the plant and from suppliers whose documentation, traceability, and practices meet our standards.

Before any herb material enters our facility, we review and verify supplier certificates of analysis and assess whether a farm or supplier is a good fit with our own ethics and standards.

For each lot of herbs we receive, we verify the plant identity and conduct an organoleptic assessment comparing the findings against the quality markers we expect for that particular plant. Growing region, weather, harvest timing, and handling all greatly influence the plants aroma, flavor, and phytochemistry so each lot is reviewed carefully.

We do not use any essential oils, "natural flavors", or artificial flavors and so the herbs we select need to stand on their own in terms of final product flavor and effectiveness.

Formulation

Our formulas draw on years of study of traditional herbal systems with modern research used as a supplement rather than a substitute. This keeps us grounded in traditions instead of trends while still making room for well-supported modern insights and techniques.

Lab Testing

All of our finished extracts are tested by Alkemist Labs, an
ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory that specializes in herbal products.

We test our finished extracts for elemental impurities (Lead, Arsenic, Cadmium, and Mercury), pesticide residue (115 individual compounds), and microbial contaminants.
Results are evaluated against applicable USP limits.

For the herbs used in our loose leaf teas, we review verified certificates of analysis that include testing results for moisture content, identity, and potential contaminants selected according to the material, its source, and its risk profile. Depending on the herb, this may include pesticide residues, elemental impurities, mycotoxins, or other relevant analyses.

We do not test the finished tea blend as each component has already been tested and is not materially transformed in production.

What We Don't Do

No artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners.

No harsh solvents

No added "flavoring" standing in for the plants themselves
